Supervisory Training
Recent federal requirements are placing new emphasis on supervisor training and development. The Federal Supervisory Training Act of 2010 (FSTA) stated that all government agencies must train newly promoted supervisors within one year of assuming the role and provide refresher training to supervisors every three years to ensure they are current in their understanding of best practices. Newly promoted supervisors must
- gain an understanding of the significance of their transition from employee to supervisor
- learn how to classify jobs and write position descriptions
- know how to hire, onboard, manage and develop employee skills in an evolving workplace
AE Strategies has experience supporting federal agencies in meeting these goals and has developed online training that addresses all of these unique requirements. The curriculum-based online training offers over 30 relevant modules, and a new supervisor can access them at his/her convenience, repeating them as needed to refresh and reinforce their newly acquired skills. These learned competencies will enable a new supervisor to hire and manage agency personnel successfully.
