Strategic Workforce Planning


Because of new federal mandates and requirements, agencies must now engage in strategic workforce planning. Strategic Workforce Planning is the business process for ensuring that an agency meets its mission through appropriate planning of current and future workforce needs.  Agencies must determine their resource utilization, forecast their capacity, identify and manage the talent resources to fill the capacity – and then, begin again.  Agencies must also ensure that the workforce talent supports the agency mission and objectives, and account for the projected loss of knowledge through employee exits and the projected knowledge requirements for sustaining and growing the agency business.  AE Strategies has provided superior training support for strategic workforce planning to several federal agencies since 2009, with customized, instructor-led and online training available for individuals, agency codes, or standing strategic workforce planning workforce teams to practice and learn this iterative process to not only meet the new federal requirements but also to build a superior workforce.
